Overview

Opto 22 manufactures controllers, I/O, solid-state relays, and software products that link electrical, mechanical, and electronic devices to networks and computers.

Opto 22 was founded in 1974 by engineers who designed a better solid-state relay and chose to build it in a non-corporate, flat organization. More than45 years later, Opto 22 is still privately held, lean, and run by engineers.

Open Standards

Opto 22 products are designed to run on non-proprietary communication standards like Ethernet and the Internet Protocol (IP).

Emphasis on Quality ADD PHOTOS

Made and Supported in the U.S.A.

Opto 22 products are manufactured and individually tested at its headquarters in Temecula, California.

Opto22 Board

  • Opto22 modules act like relays and optically isolate higher voltage input & output signals from the control board to protect its circuitry
  • Control Board connects to the Opto22 board via a 50-pin ribbon cable
  • Colors indicate relay type
  • For output relays, LED indicates that the control board is driving the relay on, not that output voltage is present. LED will still light if the fuse is blown
  • For input relay, LED indicates that the sensor is active, but not that the control board recognizes input

Master Power & Power Control

  • Power to all output relays except gasket charge is routed through these two relays
    • Master Power is normally open
    • Power Control is normally closed
  • Master Power is turned on and off by the ON / OFF switch on the touchpad
  • A blown fuse on any output relay will likely cause blown fuses on both these relays also
  • Relay slot number correspond to schematic slot numbers
