When an error occurs during a cycle, the PSS500 control system will indicate the error on the printer tape and Auto Advance if no operator action is performed within a timeframe as determined by the severity of the error.

One exception to this protocol is the Auto Advancing during air removal – the PURGE, PRE-CHARGE and PRE-VAC phases. If a DOOR SWITCH or DOOR GASKET error occurs during any of these phases the PSS500 will Auto Advance to Exhaust without indicating the error (see sample printout below).

To troubleshoot this error, check the adjustment on the door switches. If the door switch is barely making closure it can lose contact as the door moves in and out during the transition from vacuum to pressure and vice versa.

Another common cause is low steam pressure at the Gasket Pressure switch during the air removal phase. ADD PHOTOS
