Some end users have experienced rust formation on the black piping used in Sussman boilers.
PRIMUS has worked closely with Sussman to have them change the black piping to brass to eliminate this issue. This change has now been implemented by Sussman and all future boilers will now have brass piping (unless stainless steel is ordered).
This change has taken a significant amount of time due to the fact that the Sussman boiler designs are controlled by ASME regulations. Product modifications must meet a stringent testing and approval process to ensure end-user safety and product efficacy.
In any event, the improvement has now been made and the rusting issues should be eliminated on all future PRIMUS steam sterilizers using Sussman integrated or standalone electric boilers.
